Still posting old stuff. I'll roll some of the newer days together and then catch up. I went through the checkout last night by myself and the moneychanger today before walking to work. Pretty soon I'll be able to acquire and rid myself of prostitues without trouble (thank you Grand Theft Auto: Guide to Prostitution and You):
"today wasn't much of a day. I had to catch up on sleep once again, much like the post seattle hibernation. I slept about 30 hours straight after seattle. Today I woke up around 2PM ukr time. I cleaned up the rest of the room (ie set up the Wii and discoverd 2 new characters in Rampage). I had no hangover thanks to drinking a ton of water while watching Pierrot Le Fou (Jean Luc Goddard) before bed time. While playing, Regina showed up to go out for dinner. I made regina play with my wii, rampage style! Then we went to an interesting pub that looked like a dungeon, but fake (plasticy stuff instead of real blood colored rocks/brick/chains n such). I was dissapointed that it didn't serve as a dungeon at one point even though it was practically underneath the state building. A structure that looks more ominous in internet photography than in person. Well, the architecture is looming but the random people splashing in the fountain out front and the absence of uniforms made it rather friendly.
For dinner Regina ordered for me; I think that makes me a foreigner and a girl. It was cold cured fish, fried chicken, and a tasty veal, onions and mushrooms dish. Thankfully the latter was mine. I still had to eat half the chicken and all the fish though. Along with the meal I had pepper infused Vokda and Tomato juice. To be taken with the vodka comes a plate of veggies, over-ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, and something else. The drinking last night rendered tonights ineffectual. The 2 months without a drink prior to Seattle has lost it's effect. I need to drink less before them calling me an honary Russian applies to my liver rather than amiability. We also saw our 4th fat person at dinner - that is the 4th person I've seen who is obese, but not morbid american obese.
After dinner, we went to an allnight grocery store, about 9PM. The walk to and from the area went through the main square. The architecture was nice, of the 40+ year old but built to last style. The ground was littered with young people, empty, and soon to be empty bottles alike. The grass and steps were covered with each. Regina asked that I pick out women I found attractive, but I couldnt pick any. Some were quite young. I asked her what the age for drinking was - there isnt one. I then said that I had seen older men, like 40, with 12 year-old looking girlfriends - that is perfectly fine too. I fear that the tourism bureau could triple their results by advertising this fact. After picking up some Kosmostars cereal and water-sans-gas, we walked back to my place, resigning to go shop the next day. We both remarked on how it sure didn't seem like an independence day but more a day to drink. No fireworks even. similar to US holidays I suppose. Regina went home and I went upstairs to type this and play Wii. Now to go beat Viewtiful Joe's Fire Leo."
Well, playing more wii didn't happen. I cleaned up and then fell asleep while watching How I Met Your Mother, one of the best sitcoms evar. Also, apparently on independence day just a few more people get drunk and leave the bottles in the street than usual.
